Whitney Smith serves as Groundswell's Human Resource Manager. In her role, she will lead many functions of human resources, such as talent management, onboarding, employee engagement, and benefits administration. Whitney takes a people-first approach to HR and enjoys supporting initiatives that foster a positive work environment and an inclusive work culture.

Whitney started her career journey in Early Childhood Education. This specialty opened the door for her true passion for helping others. After earning a bachelor's degree in business management and a master's in human resource management from Marshall University in West Virginia, Whitney relocated to the DC-Metro area, where she continued her career journey in human resources.

With more than ten years of experience working with non-profit organizations, Whitney says she has learned to value mission-driven roles that impact people's lives. She looks forward to continuing her career journey at Groundswell by supporting the non-profit’s mission of providing clean solar energy to people from all walks of life.
