A virtual workshop on Reimagining Interconnection for Solar Energy will be hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office on 6/10 from 12-5 pm. This workshop will bring together non-utility stakeholders in the transmission and distribution spaces to discuss what innovations can help achieve faster, fairer, and more equitable interconnections of PV and PV+ resources all while enhancing grid reliability.

The event will include round table Q&A conversations with experienced non-utility panelists who will discuss the state-of-the-art in interconnection and what the landscape should look like in the future. These sessions will then be followed by smaller breakouts where SETO team members will guide groups through a series of prompts to gain your individual feedback on the state of PV interconnection. Your insight is crucial and will assist our teams in developing future DOE-funded research efforts.

Registration for this workshop is limited and spots will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis to non-utility representatives in the following sectors that deal with interconnection:

  • Transmission Scale Solar and Solar+ Developers
  • Community-Scale Solar and Solar+ Developers
  • Residential Scale Solar and Solar+ Developers
  • Community Solar and Solar + off-takers
  • Independent Power Producers
  • Engineering, Procurement, Construction Firms
  • Solution Providers – Software Companies, DERMS, Data Analytics
  • Financing and Insurance Sectors
  • Commercial & Industrial Off-takers
