Community Resilience Hubs

Strengthening Community Resilience

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Groundswell’s Community Resilience Hubs equip local communities with solar-powered micro grids, ensuring critical services—such as powering medical devices, enabling emergency communications, and phone charging—remain available during power outages. In addition to supporting immediate emergency response, community resilience hubs provide lasting value by using electricity bill savings to fund job training, food distribution, and youth programs. Each hub is co-designed with community partners to strengthen energy resilience, local abundance, and economic opportunity. Groundswell encourages all of our resilience hub partner sites to adopt project finance models that deliver community ownership, providing deep technical support in identifying potential avenues for doing so.

BUILDING COMMUNITY POWER, TODAY & TOMORROW

HOW IT WORKS

Groundswell partners with communities to create resilience hubs with solar and storage systems, helping low-income and minority areas and providing reliable power during outages.
