Marcus Thomas is a Customer and Organizational Development Associate at Groundswell, a nonprofit that builds community power through equitable community solar projects and resilience centers, clean energy programs that reduce energy burdens, and pioneering research initiatives that help light the way to clean energy futures for all. His passion for community drives his efforts to help the Groundswell team grow and succeed. 

Marcus contributes a strong background in Human Resources, Business Operations, and Community Outreach to the Groundswell team. He assists with the growth and development of Groundswell’s day-to-day business operations and customer support team focused on building an efficient and effective culture.

An advocate for equity and social change, Marcus has a passion for making a positive impact on African American youths and impoverished communities, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to thrive and reach their ultimate potential. 

Marcus earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Resource Management with a minor in Accounting and his MBA in Project Management from Liberty University. 

Outside of work, Marcus is a husband to Sofia and a father to their son, Isaiah. He enjoys playing sports, good music, and quality time spent with his family.
