The Series
Prepare for Power is a concert series hosted by Groundswell and partners from the communities we serve. The bi-weekly concert features artists, activists, and thought leaders who are preparing their communities for power even as the country faces immense challenges.
Ana Becker is a Brooklyn-based guitarist and songwriter. She currently fronts the band Catty, who describes their style as a “post-punk Fleetwood Mac.” Ana has spent years touring, writing and playing guitar in the garage-psych band Fruit & Flowers. She’s also performed as a guitarist with a number of other acts such as Habibi and Kino Kimino.
Anika Pyle is a Philadelphia-based musician merging song and spoken word poetry. Her latest material explores grief, intergenerational trauma, Queerness, self-love and self-forgiveness. After building community through her punk and indie groups Chumped and katie ellen, she took her emotional and candid songwriting to a more pop, piano and folk driven landscape. She is currently at work on her first full-length solo record - a poetic investigation of the loss of her father. FFO: Patti Smith, Mount Eerie, Billie Eilish
