GROUNDSWELL HONORED AS BRONZE STEVIE® AWARD WINNER IN 2019 AMERICAN BUSINESS AWARDS®

WASHINGTON. D.C. – On May 1, 2019, Groundswell was named the winner of a Bronze Stevie® Award in the Energy Industry Innovation of the Year category in the 17th Annual American Business Awards®.

The American Business Awards are the U.S.A.’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for profit and non-profit, large and small.

More than 3,800 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Startup of the Year, Executive of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Live Event of the Year, and App of the Year, among others. Groundswell was awarded a Bronze Award in the Energy Industry Innovation of the Year category.

Groundswell’s strategic focus in 2018 was to demonstrate its Share Power™ model in existing markets, replicate it in new markets through partnerships, and refine its business and organizational development strategy to drive growth in 2019. A judge recognized, “Solar energy is a big deal worldwide. This company can be recognized for bringing alternative energy as natural resources are drying up each day.” Groundswell is committed to building community power by connecting solar power with economic empowerment and putting people first.

“Groundswell is delivering people-centered community solar projects that demonstrate the power of private capital to deliver social good. We are grateful to be recognized by The American Business Awards Bronze Stevie Award and to celebrate the value of putting people first,” said Michelle Moore, CEO of Groundswell.

More than 200 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners.

“The nominations submitted to The 2019 American Business Awards were outstanding. They illustrate the continued vibrancy of innovation and high level of achievement across the American economic landscape,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards.

Our solar projects leverage private capital for social good – providing real investment, good jobs, locally generated clean power, and deep energy savings to our neighbors who need it the most.

Groundswell’s Share Power™ program is revolutionizing community solar by eliminating barriers like long-term contracts and high consumer credit scores. Share Power™ has the potential to double the addressable market for community solar and deliver deep savings to people who need it the most. Inspired by Human Centered Design and the challenge to “love your neighbor as yourself,” renters and homeowners who join a Groundswell solar project get locally generated power and share savings with local income-qualified households.
