Sonia Moin is the Director of SOUL (Save on Utilities Long-term) at Groundswell. She is responsible for strategy development and execution for the organization’s residential energy efficiency and housing equity programs. Her work focuses on supporting low-income households by reducing energy costs and enhancing home safety and comfort.
With over 15 years of experience in economic development, Sonia is passionate about leveraging partnerships and data-driven approaches to create sustainable, positive change in underserved communities.
Before joining Groundswell, Sonia served as Senior Program Director at the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City, where she managed a $3M+ outreach fund, expanded access to key programs such as Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses, One Million Black Women: Black in Business, and Santander’s Cultivate Small Business programs, and developed innovative strategies to broaden program participation.
Sonia’s diverse career also includes roles at the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and NASA, where she contributed to clean energy initiatives, engineering education, and technology commercialization.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Energy Management from the New York Institute of Technology.
