Letter from the CEO: Home for the Holidays

A lot of people – maybe even most people – think of Washington DC as a Federal city, but for Groundswell it’s our hometown. Since our founding in 2009, we’ve focused on serving our neighbors in DC and throughout the Mid-Atlantic by bringing the economic benefits of clean energy back home.

That’s just one of the reasons that we’re so grateful to be working with The Temple of Praise to develop an equitable community solar project that will serve our neighbors in Ward 7 & 8 with affordable clean power and local investment.

Building community power begins with service, service begins with respect, and respect means you’ve got to listen. Groundswell is listening, and we look forward to sharing what people have to say here in our newsletter and in the Stories section of our website, beginning today. I hope you’ll take a few minutes to tune in to what Dionne Bussey-Reeder and Dr. Stephen A. Douglass have to say.

We want to help bring community power to a lot more hometowns in 2017 – our own in places like the District, Maryland, and Georgia – and hopefully yours, too.

Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a peaceful and prosperous New Year,

- Michelle
