Fred Jones II is a strategic problem-solver and values-driven leader. His work is committed to innovation, people-centered systems, and long-term community impact. As the Economic Development Manager at Groundswell, Fred leads the design and implementation of economic strategies that connect energy affordability with community resilience, job creation, and entrepreneurship across rural and underserved communities in the Southeast.

Fred has successfully managed operations exceeding $100 million and advised more than 300 organizations, focusing on leadership optimization, strategic systems, and psychological safety. His career spans clean energy workforce development, urban transportation mobility, and entrepreneurial ecosystems. Through these efforts, he has secured funding, improved grant success rates, and strengthened partnerships that drive inclusive economic growth. 

Fred holds a Bachelor’s in Business Management and a Master of Laws in Business and is pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.

Outside of work, Fred enjoys mountain biking, poetry, baseball, and contemporary jazz—activities that reflect his belief in the power of balance, creativity, and holistic well-being.
