John Goldring III is the Creative Technology Manager of Groundswell, a nonprofit that builds community power through community solar projects that share power, savings, and economic opportunity. He is driven by his passion for transformative designs that reflect the communities and community values of the people Groundswell serves.

With a background in computer programming and software implementation, John develops subscriber management systems, implements new software and policies, and institutes efficient and effective business processes to better reach the community. He also led Groundswell through a major rebranding effort in 2021 and played a key role in developing software for the SharePower program in coordination with partners.

Prior to joining Groundswell, John served as a consultant for residential solar development with Solar City to bring better energy solutions to areas in DC. During this time, he recognized and identified inconsistencies that resulted in unequal opportunities afforded to low-income families which resulted in barriers to joining the clean energy economy.

John is CompTIA Project+ certified, and he is currently working towards Itvil v3 certification. He is experienced in the use of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Figma, and html.

Outside of work, John enjoys biking, making music, and listening to R&B and indie music.
