As winter fades and the first signs of spring appear across the region, we’re reminded that brighter days are ahead, in more ways than one.

Spring is the season of renewal. Trees begin to bloom, daylight stretches longer into the evening, and communities come back to life after the cold of winter. Here in the DC area, the arrival of the cherry blossoms later this month is one of the most beautiful reminders that a new season has begun.

For SharePower subscribers, spring also means something else: more sunshine and more solar energy.

With Daylight Saving Time beginning this month, the extra evening sunlight gives solar panels more time to generate clean energy. That means our community solar projects can produce more power, which helps deliver the savings that make SharePower possible.

Community solar works best when the sun is shining, and spring is when production really starts to ramp up. As the days grow longer through March, April, and May, our solar arrays begin generating more electricity for the grid, helping reduce energy costs for participating households.

But the impact goes beyond savings.

By participating in SharePower, subscribers are helping bring clean energy to neighborhoods that historically haven’t always had access to renewable power. Together, we are building a more equitable energy future. One where everyone can benefit from the power of the sun.

So, as you notice the warmer weather, the longer evenings, and the cherry blossoms beginning to bloom, remember that the same sunshine lighting up our city is also helping power homes and create savings for our community.

Thank you for being part of SharePower and helping our community grow stronger, greener, and brighter this spring.
